Apply a nourishing cream suitable for the color of the leather. It restores suppleness and elasticity to the material.
Then, proceed with a light polishing using a beeswax-based shining cream to revive the shine and restore water-repellent protection.

For suede, never use polish; instead, a brush stroke and a spray of renovator will help restore the protective barrier before the next wear.
